my 360 just died on me, 3 red rings. I am going to get a new 360 and mod it but I havent really kept up on what is moddable. Are all of them capable of being modded or do I need to look for a certain one? What are the easiest to mod, what are the hardest? Any help would be appreciated.

One more thing, has anybody ever sent their dead console in to someone to be fixed? How does it work now

Yes all xbox 360's can be modded, Im not sure which one would be the hardest, I have a BenQ Elite console and it took me about 5-10 minutes to flash mine. My old system had a Samsung MS28 drive and it was easy to flash. I dont think any of them are hard they just require different steps in the flashing process. My old console got the RROD and I did the X-Clamp fix on it and used Artic Silver 5 thermal compound and it worked great for about 6 months, then it died for good. Not sure about sending it out to get fix by someone because I have never done so.
