error when backing up wii and gc games...

Hey I'm trying to back up my copies of Mario&Sonic at the Olympic Games as well as MarioKart for Wii and Pikmin for my Gamecube.. I've successfully backed up about 10 of my Wii games and about 3 of my Gamecube games.. but for these games I keep getting this error:

(If I do click continue it just freezes the program and I have to shut down the program anyways... also I run this program in safemode)I just want to know if experts opinion suggests that it's the actual disc that's giving me this problem and if I go out and get the same game but different disc I might have better luck backing these games up.. or are these particular games very copyrighted?? Please Help.....

Also, One more thing.. I've been reading it on different pages but forgive me for not fully understanding it: what is firmware? And apparently I'm supposed to keep my Wii updated with the latest firmware? How do I go about doing that..?

If you get this in safe mode as well I would suspect the disc. Try a different disc.

You could also try Friidump to see if you get an error.

I've tried MarioKart in both rawdump and friidump and it process the same gb 2.32 in both programs then errors...?

I've been meaning to backup my friends and see if it's the case of the discs but I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this problem and knew why...first..

It's a general error that you will get any time RawDump has a problem. there is no one cause and no one answer.

To put it another way, everyone who has used Rawdump has probably seen this error.

I saw it twice yesterday. Once was a dirty disk, once was testing it on my new computer in non-safe mode.

it seems weird that it only happens to a particular disc. Like my MarioKart in which i tried several times and got an error then changed to different games and successfully backed up those - then went back and tried the MarioKart again (after cleaning the disc) and still same error.. Thus why i thought it had to be either the game in general or the disc..

try rawdump 2.1 also dont do it in safemode. I have successfully copied all games with my lg drive doing it in windows xp pro and rawdump 2.1
