I've just begun installing my Xenium chip and would like to make things easy for many people. I still have not been able to flash my chip but will eventually figure this out.

1) Don't try and flash the bios with your Xecuter2 or Matrix programmer. It won't fit

2) If using the pogo pin adapter, wiggle the chip around until it lights BRIGHT RED. When this happens the Xenium screen will appear and you will know that your chip is correct.

3) Attach your DVD-Rom and Harddrive. Turn on the power and you will see the chip turn from red to BRIGHT BLUE. When the Xenium screen appears, PRESS DOWN ON THE WHITE BUTTON OF THE CONTROLLER. You will see yellow words on the screen. This will get you into the configuration mode.

The bios must be flashed from a CD. I have found absolutely NO HELP with the "Bios Not Properly Sized" error. The Xenium site only tells you to read the "How To Create A Bios CD" guide. Also so far I am unable to boot Slayers 2.5 either

When pressing down on the BLACK BUTTON ( the small one next to the white) you will be able to access another toggle menue. The Harddrive icon will appear first and if you move the thumb pad to the right, a bios icon will appear. Still have not been able to flash bios or access slayers yet.

I should have mentioned that my chip is version 1.0 I now see that I need to upgrade to 1.1 so I have found the download section at ozxodus. Look for Xenium OS in the stable section. The guide for the instalation is self-explanitory and I think from there I will soon be operational.

I purchased my chip from divineo. As usual no f'ing instructions. It arrived via Fed'up and a couple of the pogo pins were out of line but not broken. The chip does work .

i got my Xenium up and running in about 20 minutes last night. if it says the bios is the wrong size, have you set your banks up yet and are you putting the correct size bios to the bank you are trying to flash? i went with 4 256K bios's at first, just to see how this baby loads up. all seems fine, everything boots like it should and i can pick what bank i want ot go into with the controller. gonna try a 1mb and 2-256K's and a 512K tonight. so far i really like this chip.

It seems that you MUST use Nero, so I need to download and make my Bios CD. I am in total confusion about getting the Bioses to the chip.

After my previous post, I got knocked on my ass by a virus that absolutely would not let me get anything off of my C drive to saftey. Fortunately, I store important files on external drives.

have you tried making the bios disc with a different software other than Nero? it seems like it's just a regular data cd. once you flash, make sure you do all the steps of naming the bios, and the "save and exit" thing, luckily i noticed that it had to be done after my first few attempts. after you get a bios on there, then just boot from a slayers disc and dump all the bios files on ther to a folder that you'll make on C: called bios_files (or whatever you want to name it). then go back and boot to the Xenium OS and flash the other banks from the HDD. it's much easier than dealing with the bios cd the whole time.

I prefer Record Now Max because it has been successful for me in the past. With the Xenium I still get the halting, and incorectly sized errors.

I D'led Nero but the demo version will not work because I've used Nero in the past and so I guess they know that I am not a first-time user. Will look online for the code because I have so many copy programs aready, I'd hate to have to purchase this. :)

I have one V1.0 Box with a Matrix chip and Slayers 2.0 and 120G HD. (It was sent to Dagobah so I could not be tempted to upgrade it).

I also had a V 1.1 with X-B.I.T. Slayers 2.5 and 120G HD working perfectly but it stopped working while bringing it over to show a friend. Have not been able to reactiave it.

More trials for this newbie (in disguise) :)
