I have just been down to Maplins and the verbatim dvd+r dl discs cost £20. These were made in Taiwan and not Singapore as recommended on a number of guides, does anyone know if these will work as the cost £20 for 5 disks and I dont want to waste my money if they wont. Its the ones on the link below,
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=43492
Secondly, the person in the shop said I will need to check the "book type" in nero to check it writes DVDROM or it wont work, it has a red cross on this (see pic below), can anyone tell me if Ill need a new DVD Writer drive?
Thanks in advance
Mike

Forget Nero. Forget book-typing.
Read on How to Burn 360 games on my sig and you are set. Make sure to stealth-patch them first though.
Also the Taiwan discs are not as good as Singapore. Better than India though.
Here you can purchase Made in Singapore discs for much cheaper. £32.00 for 20 discs. Shipping and Insurance included. £20 for 5 discs is a rip-off.

I'm not from the UK but that's the site I use for all of my DL discs. If you can find another UK site/store with a lower price then cool.

Thanks for your reply. I went through your guides yesterday, installed all progs (imgburn & abgx). I tried a couple of Dual Layer disks that I already had bought but they didn't work. xbox just says reading, then open tray as if there was no disk in. I only used nero to get the drive info like the guy in the shop said too.
I really wanted to get the games I downloaded last night on the go and unfortunately Maplins the only place on Sunday open where I can get them and am willing to pay the rip off price of £20 if they work.
I will order a load of the site you liked to though, thank you for that.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Yeah CloneCD and ImgBurn are both great programs. If one does not work then use the other.

OK, I got the disks, burned with imgburn and I still have the same problem where the xbox doesn't read the disk. Im using iExtreme 1.4, and the Taiwan Verbatim disks. The xbox doesn't even recognise there is a disk in the tray.
Could my xbox drive need cleaning? It still plays normal games OK. If so, will this one do the trick?

I have tried 2 different DVD burners with the same result
Thanks again
Mike

The 2nd graphic in the clonecd tutorial is wrong. It tells you to select the .iso file when you have to select the .dvd file that comes with your backup. Of course the iso file and the dvd file have to be in the same folder and have the same name (for example Halo3.iso and Halo3.dvd). The .dvd file contains the informations about the layer break and so on.
When you put the burned disk into your computer's dvd drive and open it, it should act like a normal DVD showing you a screen that says something like "If you want to play this game, put this disk into an Xbox 360" (or something like that). Do you see that little video? If yes, I guess you tried to burn the .iso file instead of the .dvd file. If not, my guess is that the backup is shot or a fake.
Do you maybe know someone who also has a modded Xbox 360 and could borrow you one of his working backups so you can check if the flash is ok?
