all i have to do is just replace key on new drive with the key on the old drive then just flash new drive correct? there is there any other steps im missing?

since im going from same drive as my old one this is all i have to do right?

If the new drive is a ms28 and the old drive is also a ms28, you can just swap the board from the old drive in to the new drive. No need to flash.

but its my board on my orginal that i think is busted. i replaced lens on old drive week ago followed the guide and when i turned it on nothing. wont even read cds anymore with new lens. so put old one back in and same thing. and i noticed what looked like melted plastic on the board so thought i may have fryed it or something. i dont know, all i know is it doesnt work with new or old lens at all anymore. why i think its board, and why i want to know if thats all i have to do to get new drive working.

im just confused on how to do this because every guied i find online is for how to swap one brand of drive for another and i know its different or atleast little different if im going from ms28 to ms28.

Alright, I remember reading your other thread now.

Read the firmware from the old drive. Then use it to make your iXtreme firmware. And then flash it to the new drive.
