Alright guys, I was playing a game, and the graphics got all messed up. I immediately saved and shut it down. Few minutes later, perfectly clear error message with e74 error code.

I've done a few searches, but haven't found a lot of information. So I have a few questions here.... basically, is this problem actually fixable, or is everything just a very minor temporary solution that will only last a few days. Also, if my error message appears every time I start the 360, is it even temporarily fixable? Furthermore, if anyone could lead me anywhere with some actual information on this, it would be appreciated. I have looked at a few videos on youtube, but they aren't too terribly clear.

This sucks, and btw, my 360 drive is modded, so sending it into microsoft to be fixed doesn't really seem like an option.

If the drive is flashed (rather than a Modchip) it shouldn't be an issue sending it back. I've sent a few back now with the RROD and they have all been modded with the seals broken and Microsoft has returned a new (refurb) 360 every time.

Thanks for the help, I haven't actually tried to fix it yet, but will be doing that ASAP, so I will let you know how that goes. Meanwhile, its not that the system itself is mod chipped, its that the drive it chipped, and flashed. It's one of those 79s that had to be chipped before it could be flashed (pre the fix they found).

when i got this error, I had to send it in to MS. Although it was not chipped, the drive was flashed with the seal broken.

Exactly two weeks later, I had a refurb

My problem with that is, 2 weeks later, I would most likely end up with my same system.... plus, I have been reading that e74 isn't covered by the 3 year warranty, and I have had my machine for over 1 year already. Plus, people say that microsoft wants to charge 100$ for out of warranty fix of the e74, and that some people have had to send their machines back to microsoft 4 times in the last year, for e74.
