I installed a presoldered wiikey + wiiclip i got presoldered from modsupplier, which they claim is flashed to 1.9s already. I burned a GCOS disc for the 1.3 USA config disc, and inserted it with the wii already on. No go. Power off to red led, power back on and wait a sec for the disc to spin, and then it'll show up as a gamecube disc in the main menu, and i can boot it and get into the config. Region override set on, save settings, leave. However there is no change whatsoever.
I tried several things, including running 1.9b recovery for 5 minutes (and then running it off of GCOS boot for 5 minutes several hours later, which gave me green screen + gc controller rumbling), following each of those recovery sessions with an import test, which always fails, and then GCOS config disc, booted like before with a full power off, setting change, and then another import test.
At this point... though truthfully there has been no change at all since the install of the chip
firmware 3.3, USA console, GC-DMS/D2A chipset wiikey v1, either 1.9b or 1.9s right now, no idea, installed on a wiiclip
GCOS discs will boot (with full power off and on)
1.9s updater will boot but will hit DRE after SEGA!!
original discs from my region will boot (Animal Crossing USA tested)
backup of Haruhi wii Jap will not boot
backup of haruhi wii USA-patched with RegionFrii will not boot
original of Haruhi wii Jap will not boot (this is the goal here)
all discs are burned using TDK and Maxell dvd-rs, at 2x speed.
