I want to take video from my miniDV Camcorder to a PC for editing, then burn to DVD for playback on a HDTV. My goal is to deliever the best resolution possible to the HDTV. My main question is about the quality of file formats. When saving my project on the PC prior to DVD burning, I'm given many file format options. Reseach tells me that AVI and WMV are the two most common, but which is higher quality? Since the AVI file is huge ompared to the WMV for a given file, I assumed that AVI is higher quality? I've burned DVDs from both AVI and WMV and the final look on the HDTV appears to be the same. Any thoughts?
