I recently used the Twilight Princess Hack to add the homebrew channel to my wii. I had to downgrade my firmware to do so. Now I'm not 100% sure but from what I've read I can't update it or the channel will be removed.
The problem is Rockband hardware doesn't work with the earlier firmware versions. Is there any way around this, is there a way to emulate the higher version?? Or do I have to update (and say bye to homebrew) to be able to play games like Rockband and Wii Fit?

Wrong. You didnt have to downgrade. Homebrew channel can be installed on 3.4 just fine.

Also wrong. The twilight hack will be removed, but the hack only needed to run one time. Once you've installed the homebrew channel you dont need it anymore. 3.4 does nothing to the homebrew channel.

Its not actually the firmware version, its an IOS patch. The IOS patches are required for any hardware, this includes the rockband equipment and the wii fit board. You can find online or extract the proper IOS wads from the game disks and install them via the wad manager in the homebrew channel. I dont know which wads you need exactly but it is possible to do.
Or you can just let the disks run their updates, since neither of them contain 3.4 anyway. Wii fit is 3.3 and rockband is 3.2 or earlier.
