This is a tutorial to explain how to bank your Chips on WSOP 2008 on the XBox 360 Console. The methods explained below are from personal experience as no one else would ever tell me nor could I find any type of solid guide on the net.
First of all the best way to ensure banking your chips is possible, make sure you load your Career in WSOP 2008 before going online.
Second, go see if there are any tables that have two or three players on them. This will ensure the Host is still on the table or that the table is yet to be created in which the Host has not started the game due to waiting for more players, etc. If you make it onto a table which has yet to be created, you can bank your chips after any move.
The general rule is that if you are the Host (creator) of the table you will always be able to bank your chips. The other general rule is to be on the table before it is started. This will also guarantee you will be able to bank your chips.
Lets say you just want to join a table but you still want to bank your chips, well you can. Sit down at the table; ask other players if the Host is still at the table or whether it has been migrated. If it has been migrated then ask if the new Host was from the original table, if so you can still bank your chips. Check out the history of the migration. You still might be able to bank your chips.
*Tip: Try to find tables in which one or more of the players has a large chip count, this ensures that the table is eligible for chip banking*
If you are able to bank your chips then doing the following will prove it... After winning a large pot, press the Start Button, not the XBox Button in the center of your controller but the small one to the right of center. Quickly at the bottom of your screen once in the Start Menu you should read "Saving Content, Do Not Turn Off Your XBox 360 Console". This message will only appear the first time you press the Start Button, so if you didn't see it the first time, pressing Start again wont pop the message up. Just try it again the next time you win a big pot.
Now I know everyone is asking, what constitutes a big pot? Well let?s say, a pot in which you had to raise a substantial amount of chips. Whether you win by the other guy folding you by him calling and losing to your superior hand.
*Tip: Now if your the Host of the table or you were on the table when it was originally created, you can bank your chips after any move*
When a table migrates it means the original Table Host has left the game and either another remaining original table player. If there are no original table players left then the Host position will go to the person on the table that has the highest chip count. Now a couple things could go wrong on the migration. First, the game could crash and everyone looses any unsaved chips. Second, the migration could go smoothly but for some reason the pot size is in the negative. Or the third issue I found is that for some reason no one is able to bank there chips anymore even though the migration appeared to be successful.
The first answer is, stuff happens and online games crash or screw up for whatever reason. Make a new table and invite all the people that were on the table before it crashed so you could all bank your chips.
The second answer is, the new Host of the table has to put the amount in which it shows in the negative into the pot and someone other than the Host has to win that pot. It sucks but that's the solution that I found worked every time.
The third answer is, stuff happens and online games crash or screw up for whatever reason. You should have already banked your chips before the original Host left unless you didn't know he/she was leaving. Nonetheless, you still should have banked your chips. The true answer is to cut your losses and create a new table, and then invite all the people who were also on the table with you at the time it crashed. Then you will all be able to bank your chips.
Well that is what I have learned on my own because no one wanted to share this knowledge with me. I hope this solves most of everyone's online bankroll saving issues. If there is anything I have forgot or that you feel I got wrong, just say so. But I am 100% sure everything I have said works because I have done it myself.
