cliff notes: new games have updates (mlb2k9, hawx, etc), ix1.5 and before wont play them, we need a new ix. 1.6 is coming soon.
[17:48:28] <+c4eva> new video partition support in ix1.6 , coming soon!
[01:32:30] <+c4eva> topo:i did :)
[01:33:11] <+c4eva> hello
[01:36:29] <+c4eva> finishing hitachi 1.5 this week, then 1.6 for all drives!
[01:37:52] <+c4eva> 1.6 will have 0800 dumping for all drives including hitachi along with new video partition support!
[01:38:35] <+c4eva> 0800 is in windows mode only
[05:17:14] <+c4eva> originals should be unaffected by the new video wave 3 on ixtreme fw
[05:18:30] <onge> c4eva: is it hard to fix this problem?
[05:18:40] <+c4eva> no
<@KarateBob> new games are coming out with the nxe update on the disc
<@KarateBob> and the only place microsoft could put it was in the video partition
<@KarateBob> now, old firmwares and games didnt always have a video partition, so when ixtreme was made, they got it to check the video partition
<@KarateBob> and if its crc didnt match wave 1 or wave 2, then the game wouldnt boot
<@KarateBob> now, this is wave 3, so ixtreme wont boot new games
<@KarateBob> if you need to boot the game, then wait for 1.6, or use a non-stealth firmware.
<@KarateBob> such as Benq_iXtreme_1.41_Rev_2_Non-Stealth_Multispeed.rar, C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth.rar (im not sure if that works on 78/79) or xtreme53.rar in the xbins directory: /XBOX 360/firmware/hacked firmware/Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943/_old/
<@KarateBob> Sorry, there is no non-stealth firmware for Lite-On

Original games with 3rd wave video partition will work fine on ix1.5.

Quote: March 4th-- This is going to be a nice feature!Quote: <+c4eva> new jf will get key etc from a flashed ix liteon via sata
I would assume that means there is no need for CK3/PEN or XTRACTOR/SPEAR to retrieve the bin files on iXtreme flashed Lite-On's
That will defiantly be a nice feature for those that had someone else flash their drive and wasn't provided with a backup of their original bin files.

That is what I am assuming is that if someone had their Lite-ON flashed, and didn't get the files from them, they will be able to get it now with the new release of JF.

well boo hop, why don't you just cry a little more about having to spend 5 minutes reflashing your drive so you can play the newest games.
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME
ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

I just don't like doing it.
I'll wait a few weeks so every bug can be cleaned up and try then.
Why don't Microsoft just give in ;)

If your Lite-ON drive hasn't been flashed with ix1.5, you will need to probe the R707 to get your key etc etc.

Just wondering why Lite-On drives need these sophisticated key dumping method while other drives need just the SATA connection. And if the Lite-On drives are harder to MOD, why doesn't MS use them in all XBOX 360 consoles or ask other DVD manufactures to follow Lite-On's reference model?

Usually the old ones are left over. With each change the model of things inside changes so if you still get a Hitachi or BenQ it's either left over or from Ebay or something.
And usually the changes come due to price + security evaluations, which is why they probably switched to lite-on instead of staying with the other manufacturers.

Oh I see... So newly manufactured consoles will have Lite-On on them? By the way I read one post mentioning newer version of JungleFlasher will be able to get the key from flashed Lite-On drives... If it can why not it can get it from an unflashed drive? The key remains the same in Original FW and the iXtream FW na?

lite on is being used in new units as far as i know, any unit with a different drive was manufactured before the liteons started. Lite ons are harder to mod cause MS made the firmware chip to be write only so it was very difficult to develop a method to get the key from the chip. after much hard work by the good people at team jungle we now have a method and it is the connectivity kit/probe.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

I've played HAWX last night with my older stealth ( NOT 1.6) not released yet
Geebee Intrsuctions
Works fine if you replace the bad stuff with the good stuff from a wave 2 game using xdvdmulleter.
1. Open XDVDMulleter
2. Select View ISO Details then load an iso of a working game click next
3. extract the PFI file and extract video - save both to a folder somewhere.
4. restart mulleter and load hawx iso, click no to repair, then click insert video then no to insert from ss details. Navigate to the video file from the wave 2 game. click on DMI Extract and save to the folder used before with the PFI file in
5. restart Mulleter and choose rebuild iso. Now open Hawx iso image then choose Create a CLONED DVD9 ISO and click next
6. Choose Load from source ISO und click next
7. Now choose Load from files and load the PFI und DMI files from your working folder
8. Make iso and save it.
9. Burn it! - remeber to edit the .dvd file - change the name to the name of the iso you just made ( I use Ultraedit to change name )

would it be too much trouble to ask you to make this repair to MLB 2K9 then upload it to the Xbox 360 newsgroups?....I dont mind trying this myself, I just am not sure if I would be able to carry out your directions perfectly to make this work

This probably wouldn't be safe to play on Live. If somebody can say they've done it safely then I'm all for it. Thanks!
