Thanks... that's what I want to know :)... Do you know why exactly it cannot be read from the Stock FW but can be from iX FW?

Seen the answer before but something along the lines Microsoft made eeprom write only (i think) and in order to read you have to insert probe. Once you have the CFW you have the Key and such so you can just use that.

Here is a question:
My friend had got an xbox with the liteon drive and had it spoofed to a samsung... he was given the following files ...... key.bin, inquiry.bin, identify.bin.....
If he wishes to upgrade the firmware now on his own... will he need anything else and what would be the process ?

More than likely he will have to rebuild the missing serial data. There is a little app called DSDBfixer that will scan the dummy.bin for missing info. You will have to open the Lite-ON drive and look at some of the stickers on it, and input that into the DSDBfixer.
I am still not for sure how SAFE it is to go on live with a Samsung drive spoofed as a Lite-ON.

Yes. Just flash like a normal samsung spoofed as a lite-on with the newer fw.

ok first off all i cant give you guys proof of this cause i am not going to reveal my source at all so dont ask me lol. chatting with a member of the ABGX team and confirmed 1.51 is complete but its being put thru the paces to ensure quality is acheieved and there are no issues, so please do not be impatient as im sure we all want this to go smoothly. estimated ETA i was told could be this friday if all goes well. this is for 1.51 not 1.6, but 1.6 is not required unless you are interested in the 0800 support.
Also a new version of ABGX will be on the way also but i have no other info on that as of right now.
So be patient and dont risk hacking game iso to play something early cause the odds of being banned are extremely high when doing such things.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

guys, I dont plan on playing on LIVE per say,....I may just connect to LIVE to automatically download the updated patch for MLB2k9 that came out on day 1 of the game's release.
My questions are these:
Do you think its still too risky to even connect to Live to just auto download the patch? ( not play on multiplayer live game)
And secondly, am I doomed already the next time I connect to live even if the game isnt in the drive since I've run this game offline?...does it really store all the games data and upload it to Live to Ban?
And 3rdly, will the game even accept the patch?...or will it detect something wrong with the modified PFI and DMI files?

as far as updating a modified iso dont know that its ever been done before. No dont connect to live at all. And I would say its a good chance you will get banned if you use this modified iso and then connect to live again.

too risky with hacked iso= yes probably
doomed= not known for sure but in theory yes
3rdlly= most likely yes...will red flags go up most likely yes buuut as always no one knows for sure. speculation about the way MS detects things is never going to change unless MS flat out tells theur methods and that wont happen

I believe C4EVA has confirmed the issue with other drives being spoofed as Lite-ONs is a bad idea. There are hidden Lite-ON commands that MS used in conjunction with the drive, and no other drives will give these responses back to MS. I believe 1.5 caters for these hidden Lite-ON commands but don't quote me on that. The reason I was talking about the serial data is because older methods of dumping were flawed and didn't pick up some valid data that is needed.
Your best bet is to buy a Lite-ON drive, rebuild the missing serial data, and flash all that back to a Lite-ON drive.

I was wandering once 1.51 comes out will I be able to upgrade the firmware without the original firmware becuase I do not have the file since I got someone else to flash my xbox in the first place. Also will I be able to use jungle flasher for this?

well its good to know that they are doing something about this new 3rd wave and that a fix in comming. The only question I really have is about this 008 .... How will this make it possible to backup my original games? I am not really sure about this at all....

You will be able to rip the 360 games to your PC hard drive.
it makes the drive detectable by windows then you can use XBC to copy them

Hi Ive Tried To Do this Many times before also i do not have the source files the inquiry.bin the identity or the key I do However Have They Key From The Sam-cfw That Corresponds with the Liteon 360 but i also do nto have the liteon drive that came with that 360 i have a different one I Have Not Found a way to inject that key into the liteon firmware everything i have tried has let to a bad flash how do i rebuild the missing info what program do i use im sorry if this has been answered before i checked but i dint see a post thanks

yeah i've looked at it but it says that the drive will not unlock if u have ixtreme 1.5, would this be a problem when updating to 1.51?
