i just fixed this rrod xbox 360 and i wanna put it up for sale but im afraid people will wanna return it cause the drive is so damn loud. When i eject a game first it stops the spinning but it does it in this like screeching sound like a car drifting lol. also its sometimes laggy. any ideas? should i put a sponge to realign the laser, grease up the gears?

My friend had the same problem. Every time his disc would spin down, you could hear the gears grind hard and it was very loud. It didn't effect game play for awhile, but eventually his laser started to die out so we replaced the drive. I wanted to use it as an 0800 drive but it was still too noisy. I tried lithium grease but it didn't fix the grinding noise.
