Hi,
Just installed 5.00 M33 and when I insert an UMD disk in the PSP, screen goes black !?!??!?!?! still I can hear the game starting and also I can hear me scrolling ! Then I have to turn off PSP (5seconds) in the on/off button remove the UMD and start PSP again then everything is ok again !?!?!?!?
When I insert UMD disk screen goes off but PSP still in the menu with the UMD preview playing I press X PSP enters the game then I can play UMD disk no problem.......
When I press HOME button to return to PSP menu the game exit and screen goes OFF again. ?!?!?!?!!??!
Even If I take the UMD out I have to turn PSP off then back on so I can see the PSP menu.
are you using any plugins, i wouldn't think its a hardware problem since it only happens when loading iso's or umds so something is activating to shutoff the screen like software, so formatting flash0 and resetting settings may help and make sure your on the latest 5.00 m33-6, also if you had old plugins still installed like fusa or bright plugin they are outdated and need upgrading so if you are using plugins it may be the cause

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I think I've tryed everything... formated all the flashs, aldo I have bad 4 bad sectors in flash1, so could be that the only thing...
I installed the 5.00 Official, 4.01 official .... 4.01 M33.... all these happens the same thing. I don't have any plugins the PSP is completlly clean.
Ok i'm thinking maybe its a faulty backlightFUSE Which would be located on the back of the MOBO.

locate the clip for the backlight (where the orange/gold thing goes into)
then turn over the mobo so you look at the back of it
you'll see 2 fuses there
one if for the speakers and one is for the backlight
the lower one is for the backlight
