alright guys this is a problem i'm having ever since i got rid of our router and replaced it with an ethernet switch (the Netgear DG834PN).

i used to be able to simply bridge two networks from the ethernet switch in the back of my computer and into the back of my Xbox 360 using Windows Vista Ultimate. I would be connected straight away.
but now i'm having some trouble with it ;/

im connected to my Router, i'm upstairs, it's downstairs, so wirelessly connected.
I never really wanted to spend thaat much money on just an xbox 360 adapter so yeahh aha.
Also i never wanted to connect it from all the way downstairs via ethernet cable to upstairs cus there just wouldn't be room for the wire and it'd just be awkward.

So briding is a good bet.
But like i said, when ever i try to setup the network on my Xbox 360, it will fail instantly when trying to connect to the network.

any solutions? ;/

Im not sure on how a switch works,but I use a print server(netgear) and when I set it up, to work i had to plug it in to my pc then set my router up to allow it's connection.only then was I able to get a connection on whatever i was using. Maybe a switch might be the same.
If you think it might be the same I have a guide that you can read over and it might give you a push in the right direction.Just let me know and then i'll have to figure out how to get you a guide.
