Hi all, i need alot of help trying to play back up games on my wii. i am new to this as i have owned a wii for only a few weeks now and came across homebrew channel, i have read countless guides on how to softmod the wii but can't get it up and running apart from the homebrew channel.
can anyone give me a nudge in the right direction and what to install first and second etc as this is getting on my nerves.
i have firmware 3.4e

Any help would be good

Well, the best and simplest guide to softmodding I know of is here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/735325

To help further than that I'd need to know exactly what step you're getting stuck at.

Hi, i installed the homebrew channel with no problems, but when it came to installing cios i kept getting an error and every install i do just doesn't work. i've followed lots of guides on the net and read different things i need to install and i am getting a little confused on what and when things need to be installed or downgraded, i think i need help from the start, it's just doing my head in at the moment. i also read that i need to downgrade my ios for things to work, is this true?

You need to follow the wii fix guide, the first three steps of the downgrade guide that is linked to in the guide I pointed you at.

You dont have to downgrade, just follow the first 3 steps.

Hi, followed the instructions with no luck, tried installing the cios from the 3.4 folder and it downloaded fine until the end where it said failed 101 and of course the loader doesn't work (dvd error 324) because i haven't got the cios installed. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong, can i format the wii and start again? i just don't no what to do

You installed IOS16 as it says in the wii fix guide? Because if you did that properly theres no reason that the cIOS wouldnt install.

Formatting the system memory wont do anything to the firmware or IOS patches though. Formatting only removes your miis, save games and installed channels.
