I just turned on my wii after letting it sit for a day and everything seemed to work fine till i tried to turn on the wiimote. I have to and the first one had 3 of the 4 lights blink and then go out everytime i pressed any button including the sync button. The other Wiimote didnt do anything when the buttons were pushed. We do have a dog but i didnt find anywhere that she had chewed on the cord for the sensor bar.

question 2: when i try to turn the wii on with the wiimote (back before it stopped working) only one of them worked to turn it on. is this normal?

you probably already thought of this but just trying to help!

when you turn on a wii mote it will blink and turn on 1 light for 1st player 2 for 2nd player and so on and when they blink and turn off i generally assumed this meant a low battery, so then i would replace the batteries and they work just great!

your welcome!
and for q2 i don't know im away from my wii for a couple days
but i would try having all of them off and trying each one, one at a time. each one starting with everything completely off and they should all work!

but maybe only player1 can turn the wii off? as i said i don't know but maybe someone will reply or test it out for you

yeah im pretty sure that only player one can turn it on b/c i changed the batteries in the completely dead wiimote and it connected to the wii and i had to go into wii sports to turn the other one on. Thats the only mistake Nintendo made i suppose, not a big deal though.
