Hi All

I read the sticky on how to install homebrew and back-up games and although i am not that great on a PC i managed to install homebrew and also run the fix for version 3.4E to run back-ups everything is working great and would like to say a Big thank you... I have just one problem everyone who has came around over the last week is begging me to do the same with there box i reluctantly agreed my question is what is the best version of firmware to be running on at this present time ? this is just in case i brick/semi brick anyones Wii obviously i wouldnt intend on doing this and all back-ups would of course be region specific but i cant say for certain my friends wouldnt be silly enough to try and use there own non region titles... thanks in advance Dave

Ok, well there's no 'best' firmware. You can do anything you want on any firmware level.

I dont think I've heard of anyone bricking the wii while trying to install the homebrew channel and backup launcher unless they were also trying to downgrade or change the wii's region as well. Both those programs are risky to use and you can easily mess something up with them. But the twilight hack, homebrew channel installer, cIOS and wad installers are all pretty safe.

Also, the backup launcher automatically blocks updates from game disks. So if one of them manages to get some out of region games they shouldnt be able to semi-brick their consoles with it.
