heres the situation, so that you guys dont have to ask too many questions.
my roomate has a hitatchi xbox 360 with ixtreme 1.2 or 1.3. i have a lite on dg16d2s with 1.5. his burned games work on both of our systems, but when i tried burning my own games, they fail on his (my 360 is at home right now). ive checked my files with abgx360, so i know my iso/dvd files are ok. he watched me burn my dvds, and he says he does it the exact same, so i know that isnt the problem (he uses clonecd, i tried that and imgburn to no success. im also using verbs, just like him). im thinking it could be my burner. does anyone know anything about the samsung sh-233f? (newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151171) any idea what else could be the problem?
also side question, does the dvd file set the booktype and layerbreak for you? thanks.
being a hitachi means it is OLD this may just be a degrading laser problem. I would check the games on your system or someone else's. May be able to do a pot calibration if u determine it to be his drive but this will just push back the need to buy a new drive eventually he will have to.
so you think its his xbox? jeez... i seriously coastered about 10 discs trying to get it to work. ill let you all know when i get home if my discs worked.

also, ps2, are you saying to burn at 4x for his xbox, or just to burn at 4x overall for verbs?
I burn all my games at 4x. Been doing so ever since my first 360 which was a Hitachi. All my games have always worked. Verbs burnt at 4x with a Sony DRU-810a.
you're right; the disc that didnt work on his system works fine on mine. that just means i threw away almost 8 good discs :-/
the only thing i dont understand is how he still burns discs that work on his system, but when i do the same thing he does they dont work... im not picky though. thanks guys.
