Why doesn't Rockband II hardware work?

The game loads up, I'm using Rockband I hardware.
I thought it was compatible.
Any reasons why?
Do I need to update my wii?

Are you using the backup loader or a brickblocked copy of the disk? Because rockband needs to install an IOS patch to the wii to add support for the equipment.

You can get around this by finding the proper IOS patch online or extracting it from the game disk (if you havent brickblocked it)

I dont know which patch you need, but someone should be able to tell you.
