I'm going to try and not break any rules here, so here goes.

I am currently obtaining a copy of Resident Evil 5 right now, and now once it finishes, I would like to play it on my 360.

Now, I am aware of the unofficial main rules of playing backups on a 360:
1. Never play an early release.
2. Always have it stealth modded.
3. Don't play backups online (usually).

Now, I understand that Resident Evil 5 is an early copy, and I do know that we do not know how Microsoft figures out how to ban people.

So what my question is:

If I play RE5 offline, with my ethernet cable disconnected, and play it, and then save my game file on my 20GB HDD, then transfer it to my 256MB xbox 360 memory card, and delete my save file on my 20GB HDD, so then I can connect to LIVE again, is there still a possibility for me to get banned?

I cannot see how I can get banned when being disconnected from LIVE, but I've been wrong before.

I once played grand theft auto offline once to be on the cautious side I changed the date to the release and played that way. So my saves would be on the proper dates. Will this work for you? I don't know its just a suggestion but I beleive most games from the internet are stealthed especially if its a grp release

People are too worried about the backups online. I have been playing games pre-release for a long time on live. Still no ban. No point in downloading it early if your just gona worry about it. Plus I'm pretty sure no one can tell you 100% that you won?t get banned doing what you said you wanted to do. Tons of people play on live with burned games before release time so I wouldn?t worry yourself to much if your gona be playing off live with cable disconnected. Cheers

That would make tons of sense LOL

@ Delecore - That's a good idea, I would do that, it wouldn't hurt to try.

@ Dindi304 - That's what I figured, thanks alot! Can't wait to play this game :D

I've been playing it while connected to live since it first hit. Who's to say you didn't import it from Japan? It's region free and they can't ban you for playing a game if it's been released elsewhere and it your region free.

JUST MY FYI. Never been banned for playing early. Always been banned for non-stealth (back in the day)

Yes but untill release date there is not no SS files in the ABGX database to verify the game so untill then there is no way to know if that version is safe or not. Even if i get something before release date i wait till 1-2 days before the official date to play even if i have it verified. early copies get leaked from stores and street dates get broken so i dont worry about 1-2 days before the street date.

RE5 does pass through ABGX as it is in the database....that's the only reason I am considering playing it.

Haha glad you finally got burnout, and yeah so I'm not sure if I should continue waiting until the 13th or not, which I prob will considering I have 4 new games to play in the meantime.

well if you run it thru abgx and it verfies then it is safe as far as stealth is concerned so only worry is playing before street date which is 4 days away. so its a personal decision based on how bad you really want to play. Im like you i have so many games to keep me busy. i also have no blank discs so i dont have a choice lol.

Well it does say that, but if you look in the noted of the version it is comparing it to, it is comparing it to the scene release. I'll typically wait to play a game, that is checked out in abgx and only when in the notes it says the source is from a retail game. But that's just me

When abgx attempts to autofix it, it downloads the file from the database. In the log, it shows the different parts of the file, and one of the attributes is a "source" section. Right in there, i believe it says that the source is from the scene release

I've played it, and it's really good. Plus 360s are cheap enough these days, but i played it from like the 5th

In order to play split-screen mode:
- You need to plug in a 2nd controller
- log to your friend's profile
- press START during gameplay on 2nd controller
