So this is a tricky one.

first of I ordered a DriveKey from CanadaMods(freaking worst site to order from, i never seen any thing that slow)
for my little brothers Wii.
problem is i am moving to Denmark like in 3 days. So i wont be able to put the chip in my self.
My question is.
Can i softmod the Wii(3.4u so it needs the downgrade) now and than later when the chip comes my dad can simply put it in?
I am just worried if i dont do anything and he just puts the chip in on a 3.4u Wii my little one wont have much fun with it(since 3.4u had to be downgraded and i doubt my dad will pull that of :o))

any sugestions??

There are guides in here that you don't need to downgrade the Wii firmware. You don't even need the hardmod once the softmod is up and running. Look on the sticky notes.
