same here tosh. this is a first for me. channels have gone missing before but always duplicated somewhere else. hoping to hear some positive news soon.

maybe its like that in southern ireland,but couldnt see them changin the encryton on just a couple of channels.

Yes thats exactly what providers do when there switching encryptions.
switchover the channels with the lowest subscribers, the people on these packs will all have the new card by now.
They do this as if there are problems it will affect the least amount of subscribers, then they mor on to channels with increasing subs.
Setanta is roumered to be next, after the reports of people with setanta subs have had priority in getting the new UPC cards.

Its just the start of the inconvenience as you call it start small and gradually build up to all channels
They have spent a lot of money on this just to inconvenience people
when they all go it will be a while for a fix and if not a fix new boxes maybe

Well it does appear that this an encryption change , it was going to happen sooner or later and Fergus is right it will be a while for a fix if at all, just hazarding a guess here but given N@l previous attempts and timing of changes , whats the bets that something happens tomorrow Friday the 13th...oh rumor has it too that the encryption vendors have insured this latest one for one million euros...

Theres no Fix its a totaly new encryption, 1st time its changed in over 10 years.
You are not going to be able to fix it for a long time.
Its not like past keyroll method changes, its a full encrytion change, hence the new smartcards.
Nagra 3 is now being implemented across the USA and Europe satellite providers. No Cracks yet.
