Hello.
Opened my 360 getting the external case warranty sticker off in tact.
Now, I find that the liteon drive has one. A little paper one that says warranty void if broken and I broke it whilst trying to carefully remove it.
Does MS check this at repair centers? I imagine with there accelerated replacement program where you get back a new/refurb box back in a week that they only have time to pull off the face plate and check the outer warranty sticker is there so they can tick a box saying its all good. Then the box goes out the back with the thousands of others that need fixing and by the time they see the sticker on the dvd drive is broke its to months later.
Just want to know if anyone knows if they bother to check the dvd drive sticker.

I don't think they do, although cant be 100% sure. It could depend on the guy at the repair centre. However, I sent my flashed xbox off for repair earlier this year (warranty sticker gone) and they sent me a lovely new one. Sometimes it depends on the person on the phone whether you get what you want (bi-monthly free accessories) somnetimes they just bfob you off. Say your gonne get a PS3 if it's not resolved, they melt like butter at this point :-)
I should have done that rather than buying a new one and going through this whole liteon flashing process. Oh well. At least I've opened the new xbox more carefully and kept the external sticker intact
Ps3 threat technique sounds great and so does the butter. Mmmmmm. I can always act stupid and innocent and deny everything if I send it to MS.

haha! yeah, the good old "i don't know officer" technique generally works with most places, never tried on M$ though

this wont work. they dont care how it happened, if they find your warranty seal is broken, you get blamed for it, and you dont get your console fixed for free. however they usually dont check to see if its got a seal or not.
