I have the ixtreme 1.5 on my benq already.
But there seems to be a little confusion with a couple friends of mine.

question is, Can i just flash 1.51 over top 1.5 jsut like that? Or Do i need my original fw and key that was taken from the drive when I got my drive first flashed to 1.5?

thanks

The key is contained within your firmware. even if its original or ixtreme it is there(otherwise the drive wont work). Hitachi is the only brand that requires restoring to an original firmware before upgrading. all other drives can be overwritten(including your benq)without restoring.

Jungleflasher requires you to restore to original and will not flash if you dont restore. Not restoring on hitachi can brick drive

the new jungle flasher comes with "a" (not your)original. it picks the right file and does everything for you. but if you have hitachi you have to restore to an original before flashing. Just dump drive first and save the firmware already on your drive so you can save your key if anything were to go wrong during the automated process.

Wow I am a moron really.

So..
I go under MTKFlash, select the right i/o port, click on read, save the file, then go to FirmwareTool, click load source firmware, and select the file i saved, then Open Target Firmware for the new 1.51, click spoof source to Target so the key's match, then go back to mtkflash, and click write..
and thats it? or did i miss something
