Hi does anyone know the cause of the 1 red light - e74 error?
Its been happening on my xbox now and again for about a year. It only happens when I start xbox from cold with the controller's power switch.
Thanks in advance, Mike

I believe thats the ANA/HANA chip on the board, although you should try to get your secondary error code. Have you ever noticed any bad pixelation, or weird lines while playing?

No, always plays perfectly. I can turn off and on and it will work. How do I get my secondary error code?

1 red flash = 1
2 = 2
3 = 3

that would be 1022 not 1422.
this is a problem with the GPU and ANA/HANA chip. I have fixed this using the x-clamp replacement and the Pennies on Ram chip.

most of the time error codes can be cured with the x clamp replacement if u are going to do it use nylon washers so u will have screw washer board nylon washer and then washer then heat sink out of all the ones ive repaired i found this method to be the best
if u dont have any errors i would suggest this anyway to prent getting any
