I just reinstalled windows sp3 freshly then installed USB and PORTIO32 drivers from http://www.maximusgames.net/360xtractor.php.

I also installed .net framework 2, to get jungle flasher to work.

whenever i open jungle flasher my computer freezes and i need to hold the power button to turn it off.

when i open the xtractor program it doesnt detect my sata card and only shows my ide ports.

im using a 360 xtractor with a spear add-on.

what could i be doing wrong?

what drivers do i need to install for my sata card so the xtractor program recognizes it.

there is no via~ file in the drivers program so i cant/dont need to delete it.

and i never inserted the driver cd that came with the card so in device manager it says "RAID controller" with a yellow exclamation thing.

I had the same problem. Try unistalling your VIA card drivers. It tells you how to do this in the Jungle Flasher Tut. Let me know if that works for ya.

There is a newer version of .net framework i think 3.5 maybe but i do not know if this will solve any problems. It couldnt hurt tho as i have the newest version also.

forgive me if this is a stupid idea but can you run sata in legacy mode and see if that makes a difference

If you have onboard sata as well as a added card maybe disabling the onboard if not in use will solve problem. Im not sure about legacy mode, never tried it myself.

in device manager does it just say raid controller or does it say via raid controller. you may need to install the drivers then disable to device got to windows/system32/drivers delete viamraid.sys then enable it. This way is sees it as a via card and just deletes the raid functions. I had to do this to get it to show up. just installing the card and no drivers and trying to use it as just raid controller showed no drive. Then once i deleted the viamraid.sys it took care of JF freezing during flash.

That would make sense, get the windows to see the card and then remove raid functionality for flashing purposes. i agree

oh once you re-enable the device reboot before trying JF. This unloads the drivers from system memory.

Try unplugging all of your drives, but not the C/drive
take the via card out, uninstall all drivers that came with the card.
plug in 360 drive into onboard sata 1 or 2.
Turn 360 drive on turn comp on ,start JF ,

Hopefully your comp should work with out freezing.

Don,t uninstall the PORTIO32 drivers
AS stealthdf said
install the latest verson of .net framework
for xp I think it is 3.0

It,s only imposable if you give up

its much easier to just go to the automatic update site that will show you all updates you are missing and download and install them for you. that is best anyway cause it will ensure you have the latest security patches for windows in general.

you can do this in internet explorer to get to the page quickly.
Go to the tools menu in IE and then click "windows update" from that menu and it will take you to the site. you might have to install a few addons for the site to scan your OS and see what you need and such but do not worry it is safe microsoft official method of doing updates.

you said you are using the portio32 method correct. the yalso developed the API method so you might want to try that, i think it is in the JF tut

err i need help again lol

i removed "viamraid.sys" as per the jungle flasher guide because i was afraid of it freezing when i erase the drive, now when ever i try selecting the port the drive is on, my computer freezes.

what should i do? if i put viamraid.sys back in the drivers folder so that everything works, will it freeze when i erase the drive?
