Hi there. Just wondered if anyone knows a way to check which xtreme firmware is installed on my modded Xbox 360?
I bought the 360 pre-modded in Feb 2008, and just wanted to know which version it has on it.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

i dont know if there is a for sure way to check but judging by when you got it and when 1.5 was released i can say it isnt 1.5 cause it was released in december of 2008.

Thanks for you quick response.
Yeh I dont think there is either because ive been searching alot on the net and haven't found any answers.
I know it not ixtreme, as when I bought it I specified I didnt want his as I didn't use live. However I do use live now, and so thought id best check my firmware. Everythings been fine upto now, im using ABGX360(just upgraded to new 1.0.0 v) to check games. I think Ill have to email the shop I originally bought it from to see if they can tell me what FW they used.
Thanks again for yoyr help.

well you could also burn a nonstealth game and try it in your 360. of course disconnect from live first. but if the game does play it means you have nonstealthed firmware and should update asap since you are on live. if it doesnt play then it means you have a stealth version. but with wave3 games requireing new version 1.51 you will need to update eventually anyway.

Thanks. Just checking, but when FW is "stealthed", does that just mean that it wont play the game unless it has a stealth patch, and is this the same as "ixtreme FW"?.
Im pretty sure my FW is non-stealthed, ill try what you suggested. In the past Ive been just checking the games using ABGX360 (& previously Mulleter) before playing online, but ive become much more cautious since starting to use Live. Just out of interest, if I have an old type of firmware, will it allow me to play, say a new wave game like H.A.W.X? the reason ive not tried it yet as theres so much conflicting information about what can or cant get you banned, I suppose there no 100% way of knowing. I had read that if you play a non-stealthed game off line, but then later connect to Live with a different game, it possible for M$ to detect from your HD that a copy was played. Not sure if this is true or not.

yes non stealthed fw is extreme fw but usually caled 5.# instead of 1.#
and yes if you try hawx on nonstealthed it will play, while it will only play on the newest stealthed fw. so that would be better and safer way to see if you have stealthed or not. in theory MS can see what games you play offline without hdd or profile signed in but no one knows for sure.

Thanks. I suppose ive not worried too much about it before, but now with the new wave of games emerging, im considering attempting to try and upgrade firmware to the new 1.5.
But if I left my non-stealthed FW as it is, is the only danger of not upgrading to 1.5 that my 360 will allow me to play a non-stealthed game on line, and possibly result in a ban. It doesn't mean that M$ can detect you any easier using back-ups on a non-stealthed FW does it?

and the newest version for wave 3 compatibility is 1.51

ok i downloaded the newest abgx360 and checked a couple games with it and they passed the stealth check so what does this mean for me being able to play on live. I have a unmodded 360 but purchased this for a good deal but was interested in how it works the kid paid someone to mod the 360 and was paying to have them burn him games.. so for now i just want to know what the staelth check passing means
another thing i noticed is it says something about wave 2 and i saw in this thread something about wave 3 version 1.5

Ill have a look at a few tutorials on updating the FW to 1.51. Looks slightly complicated, but I suppose theres enough info on the net to help along the way.
If not, I suppose I could carry on with existing FW, and just be very very cautious in checking all games with up to date ABGX360 before use.
Suppose its always a risk, more of a case of trying to minimise the risk of getting banned.

passing abgx means it is safe for online play

Thanks alot Stealth. You have answer lots of niggling questions which I had.
Just one final question. Ive noticed on ABGX360 on ResEvil 5 back up, when I lauch ABGX360 it mentions the 359 angle, potentially being a problem for FW <1.4. I understand these can potentially be detaectable on such older FW. Ive ticked the fix on ABGX360 for this 359 angle problem, and now it says its fixed when I lauch ABGX360.
Do you think this will be ok now to play once I have applied the fix? was'nt sure if this was just a bad-back up, or if all Res Evil 5 back ups will have this angle problem. Though if the fix works, I suppose ill keep it selected as an option on ABGX360.
