I have a Sammy flashed with xtrm0800 and get errors with xbc if i dont unlock first if i unlock it says it skips the video portion and continues at 1.2X(VERY slow). This is connected to my onboard sata if i connect to via it doesn't show up in windows. Via drivers are removed for flashing reasons. So now I have three ?'s

1. any way to fix these problems with the Sammy?

2. I was thinking about buying a sh-d162d or 163b and flashing kreon.
If i do this do you think I may have the same problems with the onboard sata and if so would using the 162d ide fix this.

3. Anyone know where i can get one of these at a good price from or ships to U.S.

1. I haven't messed much with the xtrm0800 so I'm no help there...

2. I use to have a KREON Drive, and it worked flawlessly. I wouldn't think you would have problems, unless there is something wrong with your SATA Ports.

3. Cheapest would be eBay. It's been a while since I've looked at those, but they shouldn't be more then $45.

I looked yesterday and cheapest were around 25 US$.
Pardon me if you were talking about other $.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Yes I was refering to USD.
I was hoping to get one from an online vendor. $25 is that from e-bay? I saw those and I also found a site online for $40 after shipping and all but I would like to find a vendor in the U.S. so that it doesn't take like 2 weeks to get here.

But first of all I would like to find if anyone could help me fix my 0800 problem. If not then i would move to the kreon. Thanks for the replies so far.

update: well I found a retailer in CA. $48.50 shipped but its sh-162d is there an advantage to going with SATA and considering my current problems with onboard SATA with the SAMMY should i go ahead and get IDE?

I currently have 2 Samsungs, one is another member on this forums, one is mine.

One is a MS25, the other is a MS28. They both read at no faster than 5x with Xbox Backup creator and the 0800 FW. They default at 12x but slows down to 5x.

With a BENQ with the BENQ 0800, it rips at 12x.

Might just be the Samsung, cause I use the exact same VIA 6421 on all drives.

your sammy shows up in XBC when connected to VIA? Mine does not only when connected to onboard then rips at 1.2X. also is this BENQ flashed with 0800 or just using activation disk?

I'm using SH-D162D too, doesn't have to be 162c, you could also buy 163a or 163b.
By the way, if you don't already have Kreon, get it here:

Flashing it to the Samsung drive is piece of cake, wouldn't spend a cent extra to get a drive preflashed.

Yeah, it shows up.. When it's flashed with the 0800 FW. It's just a normal SCSI device then.

Ebay. But that was like a year ago. Got a cheap used for under 10 Euros. The price is about the same today (looked yesterday).

I have a BenQ 0800 and it works great. Rips at 12x and is quick and accurate. I believe the difference between 0800 drives and Kreon is that the 0800 drives gives a TRUE challenge response and the Kreon gives a STORED response. I can't remember where I was reading that but if anybody has any insight to that let me know.

I've read the exact same thing. Xbox-Scene I think.
