wiikey 2 stopped reading backups

i have a wiikey 2 installed with the wiiclip all my backups work fine, but if i make a backup of a backup it wont work. also if i back up an original it wont read either.
i also have wii modded with original wiikey and every backup works fine i use the same media both.
does anybody else have this problem or ideas how to fix it?
