I'm not a total newbie, at least not to hacking, and I am proficient and intelligent enough to follow any instructions you all may help me with. So here's a description of my problem:
I hope this board is still kickin, and I hope you guys can help me out. I bought a PSP Phat a few days ago, it's awesome, a friend hacked it for me like 5 minutes after I got it. He used Pandora's Battery and a MMS, and it was thusly hacked. So, I bought a 2GB temporarily just to try some things out, and here's what happened:
I have CFW 3.71 M33-4, PSP iso's were fully functional.
PSX games that I had downloaded (already in .PBP format) do not work
CPS2 doesn't work
Snes9x doesn't work
Videos work
So yea. Pretty much any emulator I've tried as well as any PSX game, won't work. It sucks. I've tried putting them all in GAME, GAME150, GAME3XX, and then when i updated the CFW to 5.00 M33-6, still they won't work. PSX games show up as corrupted data, emulators will start, then black screen, then return to main menu saying "this game cannot start (80020148). So then I downgraded back to 3.71, with the 1.5 kernel addon and still nothing. Then I reupped, back to 5.00 with the 1.5 addon and still nothing. What am I doing wrong here guys? It just won't work.

you problem is either that your not using the 1.50 emus and your kernel in the recovery menu might not be set on 1.50 so you may want to download another emu pack thats tested on phat though its better to get the latest version of the emus and just use the 5.xx kernel and put them in the /game/ folder; i have one but its only been tested on a slim with 5.xx kernel in /game/ folder in my signature so just don't give up and see what you can get working
as for the psx games you need to install the plugin popsloader and it gets a bit complex too unless you just want to update to 5.00 m33-6 again and download the popsloader i have it my signature since it already includes everything you need.

Alright, well I'm on an unreliable connection, so downloading all your emus will be difficult, it'd be easier if it was a torrent..but hey, oh well. So anyways, waiting on the emus to finish currently, as for the rest...my kernel was set on 5XX, and the emus were in the game/ folder, but they wouldn't work.
I downloaded the popsloader from your sig, indeed it wasn't installed by default, I installed it, enabled it under the recovery menu, and still it says my EBOOT.PBP is corrupted data, even though it is in the GAME folder, and I'm running under the 5xx kernel with the M33 firmware enabled for NO UMD. This is really annoying, I heard Phat PSP's were the creme de la creme, and considering this one was both inexpensive and in great condition, I really need to fix it up to run PSX games and arcade emus since we all know PSP games are mostly shit. The one arcade emulator starts, then stops and gives me the game cannot start error, and psx titles...won't even display...sadness.

it was originally released as a torrent on www.ilovetorrents.com if you join and search for psxrar
and as for the error code its usually because the game isn't in the right place like /psp/game/blah/eboot.pbp or the flash1 is corrupted and needs formatted from the recovery menu or the umd iso driver isn't set on m33 driver or the sony one
if iso's are fully functional then the driver isn't the problem, and since you not a total newb i would assume they are in the right place, you said you switched to 5.xx kernel and still have problems so i would try formatting both your memory stick and flash1 and settings in the recovery menu and its also possible that the eboot your trying is inded currupt so maybe try converting it again or a reliable source on www.pspiso.com

Alright, I don't know if it was your suggestions or what, but I installed the 1.50 addon and now the emulators are working now that I put the roms in the GAME150 folder(at least CPS2 is, which is all I really wanted in terms of emu), and it works when i run it on the Sony N9 chip or whatever. The PSX pbp still won't run, I've erased flash1 and the settings and stuff, and now as I said emulators are go. Now if I can get PSX games working, I'm golden. So I'm gonna go make my own PBP and we'll see what happens.

Alright thanks for the guidance folks, I think I've got it working. I want it fullscreen though, am I doing something wrong? The PSX games and emus are working successfully, here's what I did:
1.Kernel running is still .5XX
2.Put emulators/games into the GAME150 folder after installing 1.50 addon
3.For PSX iso, make sure you name the folder according to the game, but maybe not the whole game? I renamed the folder CASTLEVANIA, instead of Castlevania - Symphony of the Night
Thanks for all your help gents, much obliged. But any idea how to run the PSX iso's in 16:9? Cause right now, it's boxed...I don't like boxed.
