before i go and buy a via sata card does anyone know if this one that is in my laptop will work

thats most likely for the sata hard drive in your laptop..its very rare that laptops have an external sata port..and flashing a liteon is quite the process..are you sure you know what is all involved?

my laptop does have an external sata port i have modded the samsung and the hataichi but never tried the lite on so i was just wondering

try it... nothing bad will happen. if you plan on buying a pc/pcmcia card for your lappy with more sata then steer clear of Silicon Image chipsets. JF sees the ports but never the drive.
