Hello everybody, I currently have a PSP slim with 5 major problems:
1.) The UMD drive is broken, it activates from time to time, but it never reads.(really not a big deal...)
2.) ISO/CSO games couldn't continue into the actual game after the white PSP logo screen starts.(MAJOR PROB.)
3.) For 2 days I've been able to start/ continue into games by opening and closing the UMD drive doors during the white screen logo
4.)Before I removed the UMD drive if i had a UMD within the PSP UMD drive & turned it on, the PSP interface wouldn't even start! It wouldn just show the regular blue PSP background and Date & Time wouldn't even appear!
5.)Upon exiting the Recovery mode, the PSP would freeze and wouldn't reboot or even start.

Tools: (I basically have a reg. psp hacker's tools...)
Magic Mem Stick, Pandora's Batt, Internet, screw drivers, tweesers...

NOTICE:
Yes i made sure the games are in the right folder, switched to M33 mode activated(so UMDs aren't required), oh and the warrenties won't work. My research told me to set the speed to default and reinstall the IDstorage and stuff, I tried that too, but still no avail.

Attempt to solve the prob 1:
When I first saw the prob. of not able to start a UMD game I attempt to reflash/reinstall the CFW, also reformat the flash0~3 memories. But it didn't work. The games still won't continue after the white PSP screen, I've actually let it sat for an hour and it never continued. BUT the games do start once in awhile... and i could play it smoothly.

Attempt to solve the prob 2:
So then I've managed to remove the UMD drive saftely and retested the PSP. For the whole entire day I couldn't even play one game! Now the games won't even play AT ALL! then i tried redownloading the games and formated the mem sticks, yet games still never got past the white PSP logo screen.

Attempt to solve the prob 3:
I've reinstalled the UMD drive and still cannot continued the game beyond that white screen.

Result:
The PSP still works fine as in going to the internet, using skype, and all that junk, but it cannot read UMDs, cannot start games. Now my logic tells me that with the M33 Drive mode activated the UMD drive will not be required...

Predictions/Clues for prob. solvers:
1.) Would I need to restore/do watever to the IDstorage (since I have a damged UMD drive? (yet THAT doesn't work, I used Clemonto del something/return of the dead Verson 8 for everything i've done so far)
2.) Would I need replace that UMD drive? (but M33 Driver mode dosen't require it...
3.) Is my mother board messed up? (but everything else besides the games works just fine...) or did i actually shortcircuited it?

Well I most certainly hope some fellow PSP enthusiast could shed some light into my darkest PSP hours... And must thank you all for having the patience for reading this long and boring page. Good luck! And Thank You!

its most likely the mobo since i have removed my umd drive to use it as storage for photofast sd cards i know the psp doesn't need it to run isos unless its for umd videos and even though other features aren't being affected you haven pretty much tried any software fix for the problem your having so i can only assume its faulty hardware.
