I keep reading on how people have gotten banned from xbox live for being caught modding. now how can that be? did they got banned because they used a file they downloaded from the internet? Is using a burned cd from an original cd safer? (Disk to Disk burning). I want the safest way to burn an xbox 360 game. would disk to disk be the safest? if so what dvd rom do i need to read the xbox 360 game disks. please help

I'm new please help me

search the forums.. you will find your answers.

IMO ripping from an original with kreon samsung or 0800 sam/benq is probally the safest. Remember to check out abgx, it will check all your games for integrity.

I heard that if Live even detects a voltage irregularity (such as leds wired to mb by talismoon, etc.)not even necessarily "backups". they flag your console.

I honestly doubt that's true though. How can they ban you for putting that stuff in there. It's not piracy.

No one knows anything about how they detect and ban....I have downloaded ever game I have which is about 40 and I play online fine but never know when my day or yours may be up. Only 100% sure fire way to not get banned is to not mode and if you ask me thats boring..lol.....I was always a PS3 fan but when I heard about playing free games I turned XBOX 360 FAN overnight! :)

that isnt true. i have cathodes in my case and no ban for me. im starting to think what flags them is bad backups. a single bad backup can bring the hammer down on you.

You cant really say that as you don't know. There's peeps running modded firmware for years that havent been banned, doesn't mean that M$ cant detect modded firmware.

Truth is no-one knows how M$ do there banning and no-one can give you 100% guarantees that you will not be banned (unless you haven't modded)

As bd911 say, your best using the search option as it has been discussed before.

@miketrev...when you say "no one knows what MS bans for" you should really say "no one knows the formula which is used to determine infractions". The reason I say that is "WE" (xbox community, some of the TeamJungle guys, etc.) do know what type of communications go on between your xbox and and xboxlive. From what I understand, sure MS could detect hacked firmware but there is currently no "inquiry" from XBL checking the for hacked firmware. The ixtreme stuff we use reports to the xbox that it is "original firmware".I also don't believe there is any "inquiry" from XBL checking your different voltage rails. I think the rumor of being banned for LED's came from someone who went overboard with LED's driven off the dvd drive power. XBL did not detect the voltage drop but saw no DVD drive. If the load of all the led's dropped the voltage below what is acceptable to power up the dvd drive then when the xbox inquired what type of drive it had the response was "none", which may be an indication that "tampering" has occurred. Thus possibly leading to a ban. You would sure need a lot of led's to drop the voltage so far that the drive wouldn't power. I suggest getting your power upstream of the dvd. Lots of threads showing high res pics of where to get it.

@bd911 Thanks for that making that clearer. Makes total sense that you would be banned from XBL if you had no DVD drive detected.

@mikeismad Just re-read my response and it sounded quite blunt, it wasnt intended to be and im sorry if you took it that way. Last thing I wanna do is p**s off a upstanding senior member such as yourself

I just wish we all new for sure what criteria M$ do ban on :D
