Can´t get Samsung Drive in Vendor Mode

Hello all,

I have a XBOx 360 with a Toshiba-Samsung MS28 drive that I am trying to mod. I bought this XBox sealed, so the drive has it original firmware.

I can make the BIOS recognize it (but JungleFlasher 1.51 on Windows won´t). Dosflash16 on a USB stick detects the drive and read the status as 0x51. But I can´t get to Vendor mode! I pulled the power and put it back again quickly, it changes the Status Code, but goes to 0x51 after all and won´t enter on Vendor mode.

Tried to do the half tray open but nothing.

Any advices?

Ps1: I am using a ABIT Fatal1ty F190HD motherboard - don´t know the chipset for sure - but installed PortIO32 ok.
Ps2: Tried on Sata master and Sat slave without success.

Yes, I did. Dosflash in a IPrep USB disk will recognize the drive, but won´t put it on vendor mode.

When you turn it off and then on wait a few seconds between the off and on step, dont just do it as fast as possible.

if you are using inboard sata it may not be compatible. might have to get VIA chipset sata card

Bought a VIA Chipset Sata Pci Card from DealExtreme. Let´s wait and try when it arrives! Thanks for advices!
