Hi all i am going to do my 1st flash on my sammy using jungle flasher 1.51 i have bought my chipset and need to know do i connect my cable to the internal or external socket also do i need to install the driver cd that came with the chipset or is portI032 the driver which comes with jungle flasher cheers for your help.

Try using the internal port. If you have a VIA chipset there is a box you can tick inside of JF that is for VIA only. I dont have any driver installed for my VIA card it was freezing up my computer.

i have found that you do have to install the driver so windows sees it as a via card not just a generic card. Then disable the card go to windows/system32/drivers delete viamraid.sys and enable the card. When i just installed the card with no drivers it just listed it as raid controller and drive did not show in jungleflasher. after doing the above steps the drive appears in jungleflasher with no freezing. works great.

Thanks for your help but i tried to start flashing but the cable that came with the via card didnt seem to fit into my drive it fitted the card ok and both ends are the same do i need a different card or is the dvd drive faulty or is it meant to be loose like it dont fit?
