Help flashing to ixtreme 1.5.1 with no OFW!

Hello Guys,
thanks to all your help I have managed to flash my xbox 360 from 1.4.1 to 1.5.1 using Jungleflasher.
However I need some help with this one.. My mate wants me to flash his drive however he does not have the OFW.bin he also has a BenQ but no original firmware.. he took it to someone else to flash it to the 1.4.1 so how do I go about this?
If I have no OFW what can I do to get it before I flash it to 1.5.1 incase the drive messes up?
Please leerage and belenos I know you guys are the experts on this so please help .. is there a different method or preceedure I need to do.. thanks.. :)

You should be able to just read the key of the Custom FW
and spoof it with the new 1.51 FW. I think Hitachi is the
only drive you have to flash back to OFW.

its done exactly the same way just save his current ixtreme firmware as the OFW. The only thing you need is the key from the firmware so any currently working firmware(Stock or Ixtreme) is all you need because it has the same key from the OFW in it.
The only way to get the key is to read the drive. So as long as it doesn't mess-up during this you will be fine.
Yes hitachi's are the only ones that need to be restored before flashing but jungleflasher just uses a generic Original not your actual OFW so your still ok if you have a hitachi and just working ixtreme firmware.

go in jungle flasher, mtk flash tab. make sure drive shows in drive properties. click intro turn drive off click yes turn drive on. click read. it will ask you to save it. then it will ask you if you want to auto load Benq say yes. in firmware tool tab make sure the keys match. go back to mtk flash click write. Make sure it verifies ok. click outro. DONE.

The OFW is not as important as the DVD-Key. As long as you have the DVD-Key, that is all you need. With the exception of the Lite-ON drive and the additional information it requires. But like belenos said, just read ix1.4.1, autoload BenQ ix1.5, it will spoof for you, then write.

i have the same situation, dont have the OFW, somebody did mine and didn't give me the OFW, (hopefully i'm not hijacking)
i have a hitachi drive,
so i if i'm going to use the jungle flasher from 1.41 to 1.51 should i be ok without the OFW?

Just read the firmware, it will automatically load into the source for you and ask you to autoload ix1.51. Say yes and then it will spoof all info for you, go ahead and write at that point.

OFW is not needed unless you lose your key and it cant be recovered from the drive. reflashing has nothing to do with your OFW file whatsoever. IF you just need a backup then save the backup of the current fw wether it is hacked fw or stock it doesnt matter cause the whole point is just saving the key. There should be no need to restore orig unless trying to recover a brick. and saving a copy for backup is already in the flashing process as most flash methods will do this for you. it is just up to yoo to keep track of it

thanks leerage, i have never used JF nor any other software to flash my xbox 360 but i did a bit of reading about it and it looks like JF is pretty straight forward, might have to read a bit more about jungle flasher, so with my first one, i might have to give this a try (JF), might have to start a new thread when the time comes to reflash,

thanks stealthdf, that help now i understand a bit more about the OFW, so if i have to re-flash the hitachi 1.41 to 1.51 using a (JF, Connectivty Kit) "please correct me if i'm wrong"
1. send drive to mode-b first, (to do modification)
2. then select dump drive, click read to source, then save the file
(question: by doing this am i reading the existing fw that's in my drive and saving that fw, and that firmware should be an ixtreme 1.xx.....?,do i have to anything about restore firmware)
3. and when that's done select flash iXtreme then click button flash hacked f/w

it will auto load for you. its best to actually try because you can understand what we r talking about better. I am willing to walk u through it once you are ready just let me know. I use msn messenger. I think i already gave you my address.
