im replacing a ms25 drive.. I opened it up and I noticed that a chip on the board is melted.. I was gonna just replace the lens but I saw that..

I saw on ebay the exact drive but they say I need to flash it.

I have no clue what I need or what to do. can some one tell me the easyest way to do it and what I need to buy. I know I need the drive but what else do I need.

will some one be able to guide me thru a instant message or a pm when I recieve everything I need.????

should i just buy the drive and change the pcb cause the games work for a while and then i get a cant read disc

If nothing is wrong with your PCB board that will work fine.

it works for a while until i get a unreadable disc error but theres a chip that looks melted and smells a lil bit..

The unreadable error sounds more like a laser issue. I would go ahead and swap PCB boards. If all fails use the tutorials in the Ultimate Sticky thread, it will tell you how to flash a drive.

when you say a chip melted you are not referring to all the black goo on the sammy's pcb are you? that is supposed to be there.

Lol yea its the goo sorry I just found out its ok.. Anyway if I wanna flash my drive I have to buy a chip set and I also read to buy a usb drive pen???

that would work but is the old method of doing it. You can try using Jungleflasher and then you dont need a usb drive. If you doownload Jungleflasher it has a very nice tutorial contained in the program just click user guide and read through it. O think you will find it easy. Jungleflasher does not work on a 64bit operating system though.
