Hi All,

this is my first time ot request help like this so i hope it works..

I have received a Nokia DBOX 2 from a friend and want to use it to get NTL [UPC] Satelite channels

It has already been flashed [i believe], it has Sportster installed on it version form 2005.

However i either need to update the ROMs or reflash it completely.

Trying to update teh ROMS I have used a crossover cable [connected it correctly]and tried to access the folders to update the ROMs but to no avail..

tried browsing throw run : \\192.168.5.202 but could not find it.

also tried FTP:\\192.168.5.202 but it request a username password..

Can anyone help me with either ROM update or completly reflashing the entire box..

MANY TANX

Dont worry about today until tomorrow

DBoxes are a right pain to get going the 1st time you set one up(actually everytime you set one up)

goto
http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html
there is a folder called dbox2 dreambox fix(or something along them lines
download the rar file from there and extract to the keys folder on your dbox, then right click on the keys folder and set chmod to 775.
thats the latest roms on the box.(I always use FlashFxp to connect)

now on the box itsself scan for channels and goto sky two to update keys, if it doesnt update go into your menu and check the roms are turned on(cant remember which ones exactly but if you do some digging on the dbox in ireland thread i'm sure you'll find out)
think rom 7 needs to be enabled and cam evocamd or mgcamd enabled

You can try this. http://www.4shared.com/dir/11393490/a551...ristmas_08.html

I set this up with one of the images to be flashed specifically for the Dbox2 when mine last went down. It worked for me and still is less the channels affected by the N2 upgrade thing.
