Hi

I have a chipped wii and have been burning games with no problems for about 6 months. I use image burn, burn everything at 1x speed and have never had to change any settings or mess around at all.

I am having problems with Sonic though. I have downloaded 3 dfferent versions of it and they all crash at the same point. The wii menu screen comes up with the sonic image in the top left corner. I click it, the Sonic splash screen appears I press start and then it hangs with a black screen and switches off the wii controller.

Any ideas ?

Probably a bad .iso. Are you sure that you don't have 3 versions of the same .iso?

I'm pretty sure they are different. I have downloaded them from newsgroups so you can never be 100% sure but they were packed differently in rar files.

I have seen someone else mention problems with the black screen for sonic and they have been advised to install WAD files.

What are they, why are they needed and how do i do it ?

What firmware do you currently have? I believe some games require you to have current/newer firmware to be able to play them. Not sure if this is the case with your, but i had this prob with one game before.

you need ios55 and up to run sonic and the black knight cause at first the game didnt run on my wii until i update the ios

I think he means he updated to version 4.

I figured he meant 4.0 but it could have been 3.1 to 3.2. Anyways I just updated to 4.0 and I got Sonic and the Black Knight to work.

no, i didn't update it to 4.0

i'm using 3.2 and just use the ios downgrader apps for the homebrew channel or the wad manager to install the latest ios patch
