Alright everyone,

I recently got my 2nd Starview 4 Box (The Box Super USB - Super my a**!) Like the first box the 2nd one froze on 8% and now im getting the 8882 error message.

So I bought the Max232 circuit board... great design in that it has a male 9 pin serial connection! So I have nothing to connect it with???

I went on ebay and bought a 9 pin serial to USB cable... dumbass that I am forgot to check if I was buying a male or female one, so now I have went and spent £15 on the Max232 and £5 on the cable that won't connect to it. Also the £6 postage fee to return the first box!

I just seem to be pumping more money into this damn box trying to get it to work, woulda been easier just buying one straight off of eBay that was chipped or whatever and ready to go for £60!

Does anyone know of a way I can get this Max232 connected to my laptop without having to spend MORE money on more hardware???
Or for £100 you can buy a Starview 4 box with the Max232 circuit board of me!?

Thanks for any suggestions

Yea and they gave me a 2nd one, but after trying to install the V1.07.bin file again I got the 8882 error.

I have since tried the Max232 circuit board and now im getting an 8881 error.

Does anyone know what the 8881 error is?

I would try flashing again as the max232 fix does work for the 8882 error. It should also cure your usb fault so it will work again.

Sta*view 4 usb does not need 9pin. it only accept usb as its named. I suggest just try factory defult and ask a friend for the channels backup and k*y backup and transfer'em by usb pen to your box.
regards

Try to be kind, Try to be helpfull
