First off, I am not a pirate. I own all my games. The only reason I do this is because my kids destory discs and I am sick of ripping up $50 bills. I haven't done this to my box yet but was curious on a few things. How long have you guys been playing backups on live without a ban? I have read if you take the proper steps (abxg, stealth, etc) you'll be fine. I just don't want to start ripping up $100 bills instead. Second, if the sticker is instact, but I have marks on the box, will microsoft still repair? What about the firmware, don't they check that?

you'll get various answers as far as the ban is concerned and the microsoft warranty situation.
some people will say they've been playing for years modded and fine and then others will say they played their first game online and got banned. same will go with the warranty.
best bet of advice... don't do it if you can't take the responsibilities that come with it.

Mine is near out of warranty anyway so we'll see what happens. Just curious who's been online and how long.

Been on live since 07.Been banned once, first ban wave back when they hit damn near everyone. Been online ever since.

Been playing on Live since 07 as well. Got banned once, way back before all the stealth checks and firmware. Got another box and flashed it, been fine since.

Actually I still have it. It's an elite and I just gave it to my then 4 year old. He's just turned 6 now and it's still going strong.
I just went out bought another Elite, flashed it before I ever turned it on and just now recently sold that to get the RE Elite. Also flashed that one right out the box. So that should tell ya how worried I am about it. I don't really care as I have many 360's go through my house. I could just easily buy another too.

I've been playing back-ups since August 08 and I haven't had a problem. I've modded Samsungs, Hitachis, and BenQ's with 1.4/1.41 firmware and haven't been banned. Upgraded to 1.51 firwmare now and still no issue. Use ABGX for deviation and crc checks.

Head over to www.mygamercard.net and sign up. You'll see exactly how to do it when you get to the site. Then when you get your image link, you just go to "My account" and add it to your signatue field using {img}www.whatever.com{/img}, of course replacing the { } with [ ]

I live and in NS Canada it seems to me that the USA is harder hit with bans all my friends and I got modded the day it came out and some are even chipped none have us have been banned.

I've been on Live since 2006 and I got slapped with a ban once back in early 07 I think, my box was flashed with Maximus Xtreme 2.3 stealth back then and I was waiting for a new firmware to be released..My 360 was banned right after I updated to the new firmware(iXtreme 1.2 or 1.4 can't rememer it's been a while), went to test my connection and recieved the dreaded ban message on the screen?? I must have been on Microsofts shit list for bannings back then, like I said the only time I tried to get online was after I updated to the newer firmware, still remains a mystery to me but if M-soft is out to get you then they will no matter what. I was playing my backups offline at the time while I waited for a new firmware to be released so who the hell knows??

Just a little help....Got my xbox modded yesterday with 1.5. When i turned it on today it asked if i would like to do a system update...Am i safe to do one?
