Hey every one, i bought a dreambox 500t about 3 weeks ago now but cannot get it to work, im using it through my chorus ariel and live in kilkeny, Ireland. the only channel i can get is RTE ONE but nothing else, if anyone had time to explain to me what i need to do it would be great.
Hi noeldoran i wud advice you 1st of all to take ur email address off you never know who is lokn.At the moment alot of the channels are moving to the new software thats why they could be gone.u will be able to find out more on forum cause there is alot about it u jst need to read

flashing box means having the firmware on it which makes it work.do you know if ur box is flashed.there is info on the top of 1st page.iv never used the box ur asking about but hopefully one of the geniues like scouser,sg8,noel, and other that icant rember name but they will help if they can
yes the box will need to be flashed with the rite sofeware depending on box in ur case dreambox 500t.you will find the firmware in emos lidbry whic you fill find under scouser or any other of the top lads and ladys name and you will need a cable to flash but there is info and instructions of how to flash at top of page
firstly, flash you box with your preferred image, best to use nulll modem cable for this and then you will have to ftp certain files to it for it to get the other chanells
right, if you have rte1 working on it, an image is already there, you will need a cross over ethernet if connecting directly to pc, if going through router, standard ethernet cable will do.

yes, dreambox connected to router with standard ethernet cable, laptop either wireless or eithernet cable as well.
Google DCC (Dreambox control centre) and download it, I found this the easiest to work with.
