Having flashed my 360 a week or so ago, i just realised that I gave back the pendrive i used, without having made a copy of the dumped firmware. The pendrive has since been reformatted and overwritten several times. The file is gone.

Am i screwed if i ever want to update it again?

edit: Its a BenQ drive flashed with iXtreme 1.51, using a pendrive prepared with iprep 101. There is no chance of recovering the file from the drive at this stage.

im no expert but if its a benq you should be fine...you just use jungleflasher and flash the drive again...i didnt have my old stuff when i flashed from 1.4 a few weeks ago, i had no issues

No. The key is obviously in the current iextreme firmware. All you have to do is dump that and patch it to iextreme 1.51. Read current FW, patch, write new FW wala!

Some of the tutorials I read before flashing told me to guard my orig.bin file with my life. others didn't mention anything of the sort.

well u still need a copy of it just incase when flashing the drive gets erased and the cfw isnt good or the key was read bad. if you lose the key for any drive type it is bricked. so just save a backup of your current hacked fw since it has the key in it also

If you get a good read of the current firmware, save it somewhere that way if the drive gets bricked or even just goes bad you could aways just get a new drive and spoof it. If you have no copy of the key then if the drive breaks your xbox is junk.
