If you don't comprehend what was said above then maybe you need to sell the system.

Haha. Funny funny. Anyway, a new problem has risen. I am installing my .wad files, and transferring them to my second SD card. But I have noticed now I am getting the error -1022 with some .wad files. (not to be confused with error 2011) Majority of the .wad files have worked with the methods I have stated in previous posts. All strongbad episodes loaded and installed fine, except for episode 4. I am getting the error -1022. Strange, then why did episode 5 install just fine? This of course came after 4 (duh.) And now I am finding the wiiware title "Pop" isn't installing either, same error. Pop was one of the first wiiware titles. Shouldn't I already have all the necessary IOS? What IOS am I missing, and I don't feel I should have to downgrade anything. Any thoughts?

here's what worked with selecting IOS254 in wad manager 1.4:

BomberMan Blast
StrongBad Episodes 1,2,3,5
Gyorostar
Zelda Majora's Mask N64
Sin and Punishment N64(comes up as Duke Nukem 64 for some reason)
Dr. Mario Online
Wildwest Guns
Onslaught
Tetris Party
World of Goo

here's what worked with selecting IOS35 in wad manager 1.4:

HBC Channel
Load Mii Channel
MegaMan 9 Channel

Found a solution: try finding another .wad file.....

I now have everything I want.

IOS254 still works with installing wiiware wads.

OK EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!

I had an official nintendo wii 4.0. As of 5/11/09 I used bannerbomb exploit to launch HBC. The same method I launched wad manager 1.4. What I did was take the wad manager 1.4.dol and rename it to boot.dol(delete the boot.dol on the SD card). I put it in the root of SD card (replacing old boot.dol, and used Bannerbomb to launch this "boot.dol". Neat huh? I installed IOS60patched.wad. (search google/ dunno if this had any effect on wii but DID NOT HARM it.)

I restarted Wii then bannerbomb launched the wad manager 1.4 again. They give you the option to use a specific IOS to install a .wad. IOS35 works for HBC, (IOS60patched.wad too) and certain other .wad files (this worked with MegaMan9 too). I used IOS254 to install popular wiiware titles. And yes......... BE PATIENT. It takes about 3 minutes to load bigger .wad files. AND DO NOT OVERLOAD WII SYSTEM MEMORY WITH CHANNELS. I can fit only about 4 wiiware games besides the WiiChannels (i.e. weather channel, news, nintendo chanel, shop channel) I did in fact overload my wii. My heart dropped.........

I had to restart my Wii and it forced me to go to Data management settings and delete Channels to make room for the Wii to Operate. I deleted useless channels like Check Mii Out channel, Mario Kart Channel (useless to me anyway) when blocks started to appear, (I was thinking YES!!!) then the screen went black and said FILES CORRUPTED REFER TO WII MANUAL (or something of that nature) I figured I did it now........ I bricked my wii...............

I unplugged it, and started it up again, and....... everything was fine. I had new wiiware wad titles installed!!!

Lesson learned: DO NOT OVERLOAD THE WII. don't get too greedy and go crazy and install wad channels left and right.

Just save the wads on your computer and install when ready to play, only keep about 4 at a time on Wii memory (unless you can run 'em off SD card ;) )

You can press A & B on the Wiimote at the same time to pick up and drop Channels to arrange the menu as you like.

Load Bannerbomb by selecting the Wii button on the bottom left corner on the wii menu screen, then selecting channels, then the SD card, It will ask you to load boot.dol, select yes! selecting "no" may freeze the Wii, or selecting the SD menu screen on the home Wii Menu screen will freeze the Wii too. No worries, just unplug the wii and restart.

I've been at this for a week with my official 4.0U and I hope this helps anyone that was in the same position as me. True believers,..... this can work for you, forget what they say when doing this to a 4.0 is impossible...........

Oh, and turn off WiiConnect 24. Don't think you would want any detections............
Hi there!

I upgraded my wii to menu 4 before I had all the details on what
features I would lose. I did have several Wads installed and I
already had the homebrew channel installed as well. Other than
the homebrew channel, I don't have any other hacks or mods installed.

After the upgrade all my installed WAD's still worked but of course
I couldn't install any new ones.

I tried your method here, using the Bannerbomb exploit to launch the
wad installer 1.4. I get error 2011 installing games no matter what
IOS selection I used.

Using the IOS60patched.wad updater, it would appear to download the
update, but when it came to installing it, I got the following:

INSTALLING TITLE 00000001 - 0000003C
1.../:
ES_ADD_CONTENT_START (0000001 0000003C, 0) FAILED.

I even tried the WAD installer 1.4 to install the ISO60 wad but it
also failed with the 20111 error.

I also get the same 2011 error installing the IOS35 wad. I've tried
all apps via the Bannerbomb exploit and the HBC and can't seem to
get anything to install. Got any pointers for me? I'd sure
appreciate any help. It seems like I'm doing it right. Everything
comes up as it should, it just doesn't install for some reason.

Thanks,

-Maj

Before running the wad manager, did you go through all the steps with bannerbomb exploit? They give you 3 files to work will. All .dol files. Run the first boot.dol file. Go back to PC and delete boot.dol. Rename comex.dol to boot.dol. Run that following all installation steps in Wii. Go back to PC , delete boot.dol, rename wad.dol to boot.dol, and that's the final boot.dol (<----wad manager 1.3 or 1.4)

My steps I took with bannerbomb exploit worked on 2 wii consoles that were virgins even after official 4.0 update.

Aaaah now I see... Lame as this may sound, I thought BannerBomb was
the exploit itself. I never had the actual exploit, Just Bannerbomb.
Once I downloaded and installed the other two files (boot.dol and
comex.dol) I was able to run the installs without any issues.

Wow, if all this info was in one post (and it might be somewhere by
now) then it would sure be helpful! I'm happy to be able to install
apps again!

Thanks for all your help!

Just look up bannerbomb exploit for wii virgin 4.0 (or something of that nature.) Be sure to get those 3 files (the wad.dol can be swapped for the current wad manager 1.4).

Anyone else need further explanation just ask! but seek and you shall find an answer otherwise.

I think this is the best thing since sliced bread! It is not so much pirating, but for one, I probably would never have bought wiiware titles anyway. Some are a waste of money and time. Really. The only ones worth picking up are tetris, dr. mario, megaman 9, world of goo to name a few, and only a few.

The other virtual console titles are already owned by many. Why pay again for something you already own from years ago? And there are sooooooo many games that we never got a chance to play growing up. Most of these titles are not available for download via the Virtual Console titles anyway.

We have unlocked the wii to its full potential. Mine isn't collecting dust anymore. But I still will gladly pay for Nintendo Wii games. Most of them can be found on amazon for around $20 bucks or so, used. I'd pay that price versus watching a 4 gb or so, file to be downloaded that takes a looooooong time, (week{s} or so in some cases)and find out it isn't going to work for you. Skip the headache and the possibility of getting caught by your internet service provider for illegal file sharing.

Playing ANY wiiware title, and all the NES, SNES, GENESIS, GAMEBOY(advance ) games is truly badass.

Hello, I have v4.0e, bannerbomb, HBC 1.3 and WAD Manager 1.4

When I go to use IOS 254 in the WAD Manager it launches Bootmii, so how do I avoid that? I tried the wad manager via bannerbomb and HBC to the same effect.

Does the HBC depend on Bootmii for launching home brew or can I uninstall Bootmii with no adverse effect to the HBC?

If I remove Bootmii then I no longer have IOS 254 available, so how do I install via IOS 254?

got it to install WAD files now. Just need to make them actually work >.> I get a corrupt screen trying to launch the game.

For information on how I got it to work on my Wii system V4.0 look here. You can perform all of that and retain System Version 4.0 and install WAD files.

I think the screen corruption is caused by ROM incompatibility and so I am looking for an appropriate region ROM.

why is it that alot of people on 4.0 are having a hard time installing wads? My wii was on 3.4 then i did the 4.0 update following the link on larrys guide. I kept my wad manager 1.3 and i am still able to install wads without a problem. I didnt change to wad manager 1.4 (seems alot of people getting error on this one). I havent had any problems so far. But could there be a problem if i continue to use 1.3? I did the 4.0 update, new cios rev12, new usb loader gx and installed the new version of the homebrew channel. Just wondering if I NEED TO use 1.4 or could i just stick to 1.3? Thanks!

Im new, so bear with me!

v1.4 seems to largely be a cosmetic update to the WAD Manager. 1.3 should still work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think wad manager 1.4 (besides a new look,) can let you select which IOS you want to use to install wads.

You just edited this didn't you?

Works the same as 1.3, if it detects a custom IOS then it will automatically use it without giving any option to choose an IOS.
