hi

i need a vob file editor which takes the vob file edit it and most importantly saves the edited file in vob format. any idea where can i find such software?

My real problem is that i downloaded a dvd which was incomplete but the video files are complete. now the video files are of 5.0 Gigs and to be able to fit them on a dvd i need to edit some parts of it and get rid of the secondary audio subtitles and other extra stuff. now the way i understand ifo edit just blocks the stuff but not erase it out of the movie. so i have to edit the vob files. dvd2vcr gives the out put in mpeg and when i put it back into the other files it doesnot play it. so here is the bottom line question.

one more thing the dvd shrink wouldnt open the dvd for me it gives me error which says that i need a file vts_2_0.ifo file. this file belongs to exras on the second dvd and i dont have it.

can i get a program that actually delets the secondary audio and subtitles from a vob file( and will it decrease the vob file size? i think it should). or there is a way to fit a 5gigs into 4.7 dvd.

its a very rare dvd and u dont get it from any place and i dont wanna lose it now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Without the IFO File the Vob file is just an Mpeg2 file So there is really no differance between a VOB file and an Mpeg2 file, And as soon as you edit the Vob file your IFO File becomes invalid...A simple Mpeg2/VOB editor that works pretty good is called "Mpeg2Cut" it is baced on the same interface as DVD2AVI but is an editor, I used it last night on some Vob files that I could not edit with a regular Mpeg editor and it worked Great, You can download it here :
http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/download/MPEG2Cut-1.15.rar

You will need to but these 2 DLL Files in the same folder with Mpeg2 cut so it can properly work with the AC3 or Mp2 audio:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/download/libmmd.rar
And
http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/download/azid_dll-1.8.rar

You will not be able to Edit the Vob files and Just put them back in the Video_TS Folder and Burn it and expect it to Play because the IFO File will not properly Correspond to the Vob files anymore, You will have to recreate the IFO File so it Properly corresponds to the VOB files, you might be able to do this with IFO edit But It might just be easier to Re-author the Files to DVD useing a DVD authoring Program, And Takeing out the extra Audio Tracks and Subtitle Tracks Should have been done when you Ripped the DVD because to do it now will be Much more difficult because you will have to demux the Vob files into it"s seperate streams useing What I don"t know...Well Good Luck

> When you use MPEG2CUT you can lose the video headers

Download version 2 of this utility,
which has the option to retain DVD VOB headers.

The new version has a number of bug fixes and new features.
