Using the Homebrew Channel I've changed my Wii's FW a few different times to test things.

Recently I went from 3.4U to 3.2U...the update took, said it needed to reset. Never came back, I get a blank screen no audio.

I've done some research here and elsewhere and I see many comments about the BT device going out and needing to be replaced. Is it possible that could be it? Just seems a bit coincidental that it was RIGHT after a FW change.

Any thoughts would be great? Thanks!

Same thing happened to me. Almost exactly. Let me know if you find a fix.

Same problem here.. only I used Waninkoko's upgrader tool to upgrade to 4.0.

That makes 3 of us with Wiis with no audio/video.

No, I didn't..

Although I suppose this is worth mentioning.

Never had any problems with my Wii before, but today I turned it on and it said something about not being able to find the Mii data.. and then it froze.

Turned the Wii again again, and I got no such message.. but eventually the menu froze again.

Took the SD card out, to put another app on it, but then the Wii started up with enough time to get to the Homebrew Channel.

Put this SD card in, and ran this: http://www.tehskeen.com/viewarticle.php?articleid=3656

Now I'm in the same position as elk.

Wait. I thought 3.4U was the 'screwed' firmware where you really couldn't do much with it... And why 3.2 you guys? I'm running 3.3U fine with homebrew and everything...However, I wish you all the best of luck. Until then, I suppose it's time to turn up those IPods...

The sole reason I use 3.2 is because it still supports Trucha. And I made a single layer version of brawl, so I needed 3.2U to play it.

I went to 4.0U, didn't like it, downgraded to 3.2U. Then when single layer Brawl didn't work, I messed around with a few IOSs. I'm not sure if it was the messing around or the 4.0U, but I have no audio/video, the light turns green, and the disc seems to read.

Well it seems i have a low level brick.

Basically, it's the worst possible. I need either an infectus chip to reflash my nand ($60) or a wii with a functional motherboard.

Anyone looking to sell such a console on the cheap? As long as the motherboard works I'm interested.

Loserkids, try this:

To see if you have a different brick.

No such luck, so far. I'll keep trying, but I doubt it's that difficult to work. I'm pretty sure it either works or doesn't.

Blah. Not good.

I use a wiiclip for my modchip, so I could just remove it and send it to Nintendo if need be. Of course, it's soft modded as well, but it seems like Nintendo just voids your warranty if that's the case (which, my warranty has long run out anyway).

But, I've been looking into bootmii. Is it possible that we could unbrick our Wiis that way, when it's released?

How much longer do you suppose it'll be?

If you don't mind paying, then taking out your chip and then sending it in would be the best idea. However, be aware that they might send you a different Wii (which means a different chipset) and then your clip might not work.

If you send it in, maybe buy a broken 'for parts' drive from ebay, install it, and send that in. Tell them you don't care about the drive, and to just fix the boot process (so that they don't charge you for a new drive too). Then when it's returned, switch out your old drive + clip.

Bootmii is software based, so with our current situation it wouldn't help at all. However, it might help prevent bricks if we install it on our new systems.
