I am currently using DVD decrypter and DVD2one to decrypt and shrink my DVD's to fit on 1 disk. After this i write them with NERO 6.3. When i come to try and copy the copy I have just made "on the fly" it always throws out the blank disc and tells me there is not enough space on the disk. Now if I make my back up on my friends computer using the exact same method then bring it back to my computer to do a copy of the copy it does it no problem. Can you tell me why this is please.
It could be that when you go to burn on-the-fly with your writer , that the IDE cable isnt able to handle the data transfer rate (?)
It doesnt help saying it works on my friends PC but does not on mine ;-)
Here is a bit more info. When i have copied my dvd file with nero. Lets say for instance it is 4.36GB. If the disc is in my writer and i check disc info it reads as total capacity 4.471MB written on to it. Now when I put it into my normal DVD-ROM and then check disc info it reads as total capacity 4.490 therefore stoping me from doing a copy disc "on the fly". Now if i do the same film on my friends computer when I bring it back to mine and check disc info when it is in the DVD-ROM it reads as 4.471 which means i can copy it using copy disc "on the fly". Why is this?

You have lost me. It seems to make sense to me. What is it you are having problems understanding. Basically every backup I make on my computer with which ever programme cannot be copied by Nero using COPY DISK and ON THE FLY. It just tells me there is not enough space on the disk.

Your answer is, if you have 2 drives and wish to a copy non-copyrighted disc to a blank, the information can travel at a high rate of speed from disc to disc "on the fly" because the files are already in their proper order and no ?prep? work is required. With files on your HD, that same speed cannot be attained with accuracy, hence we use Nero in the "classic" mode. In the "Classic" mode, there is time to read the files and compile them only once, that's why if you wished to burn multiple copies, the first copy will take the longest, the 2nd, 3rd etc. will fly through because all the "prep" work has already been done -
