I am looking for a 2TB (nothing less than a 1.5 TB) HDD Media player that up scales all videos to 1080p. I have found the Argosy media player but it is only 1.5TB and up scales to 1080i. I want to put all my DVDs on this HDD and have it connected to my TV with folder menus. Is there such a thing out in the market?

Well, for its price, it certainly seems pretty good. However, I don't think anybody else has come out with a media player with a dedicated storage device like that yet. Your best bet would probably be to get a media player with USB input.

The Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player, for instance, has 2 USB ports for external drives. If those two drives happen to be 1 TB each, then you're set. It's a bit clunkier than necessary, but like I said, it's probably going to be your best bet, both financially and availably.

I know that the Playstation 3 can upscale almost anything to 1080p, if that's your thing. It accepts 2.5" internal SATA hard drives, too, so you can feasibly put in... well, the max right now is about 500 GB. Still, it's also got USB ports you can stick external USB drives onto. (The only problem is that it can't play actual DVD images, meaning if you have a ISO, you won't be able to play it on the PS3. It handles most digital media fine, though.)

That'd be my suggestion: Get a media player, then get USB storage to go along with it.

Hope that helps.

ANOTHER TO TRY IS THE "SCREENPLAY HD PRO" BY IOMEGA. IT HAS 1TB OF STORAGE AND YOU CAN HOOK UP MORE VIA USB, ETC.

i got it too but returned for the WD TV HD because it had issues with ISO.

I am now experimenting with MKV on WD TV. The WD TV HD is a better display format, infact everything about it is better except it does not let you skip to next track on video, you have to option to skip 10 minutes ahead though.

i hav e4 my book 1TB drives hooked to it for storage. i would like to convert everything to APPLE TV or MKV but i am having playback problems with APPLE TV and i dont know how to embed the thumbnail in MKV.

How about this one? Does anyone have this one? I would like to know about these limitations. This one appears to have what I want but sometimes there are little things that really could have been better but you don't know until you buy it and since I haven't found my money tree yet I'd like a second opinion.

i've been looking around also for something similar, and seemed to find that a network media tank was the best option, does 1080p and i am pretty sure you can install any size hdd you want in them
3 main brands you should check out:
egreat (the one you have linked to on ebay)
popcorn hour (most popular one)
hdx 1000 (basically the same as pch, but cheaper)

popcorn hour (and hdx as a result) sell more so i assume they would have greater support.

another on to check out i haven't looked at myself is the tvix hd models, but they might be worth a look as well
