Hi everyone,

I have flashed my Sammy ms28 with xtrm0800.bin in dosflash,
but windows can't see my drive.
I am using a via 6421a card.
I have tried it with no drivers (PortIO32 installed) and also with via drivers.
Powering my drive via ck3.

I can't seem to see what I am doing wrong.
Can someone please help me.

Bump, please someone help. I have tried turning the drive on while windows is running but it just freezes my pc.

The VIA driver is required in order for the 0800 drive to work. I'm mainly talking about the "viamraid.sys". That has to be installed in order for the PC to recognize the drive.

I just uninstalled the PortIO32 drive and installed the via card drivers, restarted my pc and windows still can't see my drive.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

If you havent done this give it a try.

Click Start
Right Click Computer
Click Properties
Device Manager
Go to your optical drives CD/DVD Click on the plus sign
Right Click a drive
Scan Hardware for changes.

On a side not I have to plug my Sammy into my MOBO sata slot
to get it to read. It wont read off my VIA Card.

Did you inject your key into 0800 or just flash the FW to the drive?

I injected my key as the firmware is for a ms25 drive and I had to spoof it as a ms28, I followed this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLaTDsGpsGM

Wow... what a bunch of crap. I watched 3 minutes of that vid and gave up. It's no wonder why so many people are having problems with this. That's just waaaayyy too much crap.

The 0800 is it's own firmware. There's no need to inject a key or spoof it. Just run the mtkflash command and write the 0800 firmware. Poof, you're done.
